\"Judge<\/a>When I was a lawyer (in a past life, see here<\/a>), I wanted to be a judge. I have a strong sense of fairness and enjoy listening to others. I have also always loved stories and for me a big part of being a lawyer was understanding and then communicating other people’s stories.<\/p>\n

Now I’m a writer, my dream has come true! I’m a judge… a writing judge!<\/p>\n

Last year I had the honour of judging the Australian Horror Writers’ Association Short Story Competition<\/a>. Now this year I’ve been asked to judge the 2015 Ghostly Stringybark Award<\/a>. Woo hoo!<\/p>\n

The 2015 Ghostly Stringybark Award will go to the best 1,500-word ghost and\/or horror story (for adults) that has an incidental connection to Australia (even if one of the characters simply loves vegemite!). First prize is $375 cash, publication and printed anthology. There are other prizes too. Entry fee $9.95. More details and conditions are here<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n
