Who\u2019s that?<\/h3>\n

Jason Nahrung is the author of over 20 short fictions and the horror novels The Darkness Within,\u00a0Salvage, <\/i>and Blood and Dust<\/i>. He has won two Chronos awards for best novel (Salvage<\/i>) and best short story (The Mornington Ride<\/i>), was a finalist for two Aurealis Awards for best horror novel, as well as for an Australian Shadows Award, and was shortlisted for a Ditmar. His short story THe Mornington Ride was recently listed in the Year\u2019s Best Australian Fantasy and Horror.<\/p>\n

The office shot (above) shows where I\u2019ve been doing most of the non-fiction work this year. Mementoes, figurines and kitsch, bookshelf spillage and the immediate to-read pile all jumble here. There\u2019s even some dictionaries! This year has been rather hectic, so virtually all my fiction writing, such as it has been, and rewriting\/editing have happened in the salubrious surrounds of the V\/Line train between the Other Job in Melbourne and home in Ballarat (see below). The 80-minute journey gives plenty of time to make\u00a0a mark on the work in progress. Another meaning to \u2018track changes\u2019!<\/p>\n
