He also teaches Kung Fu. He is the author of the dark urban fantasy trilogy, <em><a title=\"Bound\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/bound\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bound<\/span><\/a>, <a title=\"Obsidian\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/obsidian\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Obsidian<\/span><\/a><\/em> and <a title=\"Abduction\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/abduction\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Abduction<\/span><\/em><\/a> (<em>The Alex Caine Series<\/em>) published by HarperVoyager Australia, and the dark urban fantasy duology, <a title=\"Realmshift\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/realmshift\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">RealmShift<\/span><\/em><\/a> and <a title=\"Magesign\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/magesign\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MageSign<\/span><\/em><\/a> (<em>The Balance<\/em> <em>1<\/em> and <em>2<\/em>) from Gryphonwood Press. He co-authored the short horror novel, <a title=\"Dark Rite\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/dark-rite\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dark Rite<\/span><\/em><\/a>, with David Wood. Alan also writes short fiction with more than 60 stories <a title=\"Alan\/bibliography\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/about-alan\/bibliography\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">published in a variety of journals and anthologies<\/span> <\/a>in Australia, the US, the UK and France. His short fiction has appeared in <em>Fantasy &amp; Science Fiction (forthcoming),<\/em> <em>Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Daily Science Fiction, Postscripts,<\/em> and <em>Midnight Echo<\/em>, among many others, and more than twenty anthologies, including the <em>Year\u2019s Best Australian Fantasy &amp; Horror<\/em> (2010 and 2012).\u00a0Alan also writes narrative arcs and dialogue for videogames and wrote the popular writer\u2019s resource, <a title=\"Write-fight\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/write-fight\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Write The Fight Right<\/span><\/em><\/a>, a short ebook about writing convincing fight scenes. He has twice been a finalist in the Ditmar Awards.<\/p>\n<h3>Where can I read more about this fabulous author?<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.alanbaxteronline.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>What music do they like?<\/h3>\n<p>I listen to a lot of heavy metal (including pirate metal!) and movie and game soundtracks while I write. Usually stuff with lyrics that are non-existent or not too clear, so as not to be too distracting. But not always. Recently I&#8217;ve been listening to a lot of Devin Townsend Project while I&#8217;ve been writing. Devin is an absolute genius and one of my favourite musicians.
