Zena Shapter

Zena Shapter writes from a castle in a flying city hidden by a thundercloud, reaching across age and genre into the heart of storytelling. A multi-award-winning author of speculative and contemporary fiction, she teaches writing at festivals, libraries and schools, judges various literary awards, mentors and edits other writers, and encourages everyone to value the importance of creativity. She loves movies, frogs, chocolate, and potatoes, though not at the same time!

  1. Oh come on. None of these photos have been taken by people who actually write! Look at those neat desks. Should I send you an honest photo Zena? With all the towering piles of paper on every available surface, endless books for the doctorate studded with plastic flags, unopened bills, bits and pieces of children’s schoolwork and certificates, diaries, random pieces of electronic equipment. Nah, I’ll lie by omission and send a tidy photo. Like everyone else…:D

  2. CONVERSATION ON TWITTER:

TWEEP: Um, where is the computer? #confused
MARGO: The wha? (I do have a laptop, but that’s for editing on. When writing, is all longhand.)
ZENA: Wow – it’s old school, but it’s clearly working for ya 😉
