Who is Pamela Hart / Pamela Freeman?

the_soldiers_wife_COVERPamela Freeman is the award-winning author of over 20 books, including the fantasy series for adults the Castings Trilogy (Blood Ties, Deep Water and Full Circle) and books for children including Victor’s Challenge, Lollylegs, Princess Betony and the Unicorn, the Floramonde series and the Network Mysteries. Her books have been shortlisted for State Literary Awards and the Children’s Book Council Book of the Year Awards. Her novel Ember and Ash won an Aurealis Award for Best Fantasy Novel. In 2015, she will be publishing her first historical novel under the name Pamela Hart, The Soldier’s Wife, which is set in Sydney in World War I. The main character, Ruby, is married to an ANZAC digger who leaves for Gallipolli at the beginning of the book, and it looks at the effect of the war on those who stayed on the home front. 2015 should also see the publication of two new children’s books. One will be the fourth in the Princess Betony series, Princess Betony and the Hobgoblin; the other will be a non-fiction picture book, Lake Eyre.

What music do they like?

I may be the only writer in existence who actively avoids music while she writes! I can write while the TV is on, there are kids playing volcano trampling through the house, the Greek lady next door is shrieking at her daughters – but I can’t write while music is playing. Who knows why?
